Fair terms for a useful public service

Terms of service

BridgeLifts offers timely context to help you plan a trip. It is not an official traffic-control, emergency, or navigation service.

Using BridgeLifts

You may use BridgeLifts for personal and lawful purposes. Please do not interfere with the service, bypass reasonable limits, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, automate excessive requests, misrepresent the information, or use the site to harm others.

Information can be late or wrong

Bridge reports, vessel positions, times, and map details come from outside sources and may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or incorrect. A vessel near a bridge does not necessarily mean a lift will happen. A clear status does not guarantee an uninterrupted crossing.

Make safe travel decisions

Do not rely on BridgeLifts for emergencies, navigation on the water, commercial dispatch, or any situation where delay or error could cause harm. Always obey road signs, traffic signals, closures, marine rules, and instructions from public authorities. Use official transportation and emergency sources when the stakes are high.

No guarantee of availability

BridgeLifts is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent allowed by law, we make no warranties about accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation. We may change, pause, or discontinue any part of the service.

Responsibility

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the BridgeLifts operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, or for losses caused by travel decisions, missed appointments, delays, unavailable data, or use of outside services. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot legally be limited.

Outside services and attribution

The map and some information depend on outside providers, including OpenStreetMap and public transportation or vessel-data sources. Their terms may also apply. Names and marks belonging to those providers remain theirs. BridgeLifts is not presented as an official government service.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as BridgeLifts changes. The effective date will be updated when we do. Continued use after a revision means you accept the revised terms.
